WOW

Have you ever dreamed of hitting the road in your own beautifully crafted home on wheels? Jessy Muller turned that dream into her reality, and she did it for less than $2K!

Known on Instagram as @slowroamer, her journey started with a surprising find on Craigslist—a 1978 Dodge Commander. Even better, it was priced at just $1,900.

"I thought I’d get stuck with a really ugly motorhome," Jessy admits with a laugh. But the RV she discovered was anything but ugly—it was perfect for her.

There was just one catch: another buyer was also interested. Luckily for Jessy, their offer fell through, and she seized the opportunity to make the vintage RV her own.

Without any prior carpentry or electrical experience, Jessy was ready to take on a project that promised a steep learning curve. One look at her home, though, and you’ll see it was well worth it.

Over the course of a year, Jessy transformed what she affectionately calls "Mander" into a tiny yet astonishingly spacious mobile home.

With cleverly designed foldable tables and ample basket storage, she proved that limited space does not limit ingenuity. Despite the challenges of updating an older vehicle, Jessy infused every corner with style and function.

Jessy's journey gives us a vivid view of life on the road, wrapped up in the cozy confines of "Mander."

Fortunately for us, she shares her complete makeover process, from the thrill of the buy to the final creative touches, in her video tour and it’s a must-watch for anyone with a heart for adventure and a knack for DIY.

ANIMALS

In a tranquil park in Toronto, a dramatically heartfelt scene took shape that’s still living rent-free in my head.

Have you ever seen two swans in love? I mean really in love? Well, meet Charlotte and Mango- the stars of the very best wildlife reunion video between birds I’ve ever seen.

Their journey to becoming viral sensations began when a volunteer from the Toronto Wildlife Center discovered a trumpeter swan in distress. Its feathers were bloodied and matted- a stark contrast to its usual pristine condition.

Immediate rescue and care were essential, and thankfully, the swan was swiftly brought to a facility where it could heal. When the swan was gently released after recovery, though, the most touching moment unfolded.

From the distance, the swan’s mate waddled over as quickly as its little legs would allow. Their reunion was profoundly emotional.

The elated swans frantically flapped their wings in unison as they energetically trumpeted as loudly as they could. Their joy echoed across the water for the world to hear.

It was an unadulterated display of animal affection and loyalty. And, as it turns out, these aren’t the only swans that are sweet on each other.

Swans are actually known for their lifelong partnerships. They share deep emotional connections and fidelity rarely observed so clearly in the wild. This stirring scene at the Toronto park spoke volumes about their enduring love.

For anyone who cherishes being witness to the profound connections wildlife can forge, their reunion video is a must-see. It’s a vivid reminder of the loyalty and love that these magnificent creatures share.

💭 QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Courage is grace under pressure.”

🗿 ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…

Did you know that on this day in 1988, a Greek cyclist achieved an extraordinary feat in human-powered flight?

Kanellos Kanellopoulos piloted the Daedalus 88, an ingeniously designed aircraft created by a team from MIT. He flew it from Crete to Santorini in Greece, covering about 74 miles in just under 4 hours.

This daring attempt by Kanellopoulos set records for both the distance and ambition of human-powered flight. Notably, the Daedalus 88 had a wingspan of 112 feet—similar to many passenger aircraft—but weighed only 69 pounds!

The flight's finale was just as dramatic as its journey was inspiring.

As Kanellopoulos approached the intended landing spot, strong tailwinds forced a tense final maneuver.

A wing of the Daedalus 88 folded and failed. As a result, the aircraft crash-landed into the sea just 10 yards off the coast.

Miraculously, Kanellopoulos emerged unscathed, swimming to shore to a hero's welcome from the 400 spectators gathered to witness the historic event.
