And it looks like they’re right—after some more cautious attempts, the black-gray cat finally starts to warm up, allowing the lynx to get close for some mutual sniffing.

The breakthrough moment comes when the black-gray cat starts grooming the lynx, a sure sign of acceptance (and maybe a little bit of dominance). The lynx even gets some grooming from the white cat, showing it’s now part of the family.

Thankfully, their human captures these precious moments on camera. The resulting videos give us a front-row seat to this budding friendship.
