An affable dad has gained a hoard of fans after causing a heartwarming scene at his daughter's wedding.

A true modern family, Kelsey Griffith has had the distinct privilege of being raised by two great men, her father and her stepfather. While both men have her heart (and her back), this left Kelsey dealing with a bit of a conundrum when it came to planning her wedding.

How could she honor both of these important figures in her life on her special day?

In a moment that's now captured the hearts of many online, Kelsey's father, made an adorable, heart-pounding pause while walking her down the aisle. What did he have up his sleeve? A gesture no one saw coming, other than Kelsey, that is.

He lovingly reached out and pulled Kelsey’s step-father into the mix. There was no good reason they both couldn’t walk her down the aisle, and he wasn’t taking ‘no’ for an answer.

“My dad surprised my stepdad by asking him to join us in our walk down the aisle. We had kept it a secret until the ceremony, so everyone was surprised when we included him,” Kelsey shared with Newsweek.

The video of this joyful scene was shared on Kelsey's TikTok and erupted in views and uplifting comments. It's a powerful moment that shows the beautiful side of being brought up in a blended family.

ANIMALS

Deep in the verdant depths of a jungle in southern India, a baby elephant got separated from her herd.

The calf, only four to five months old, had been making her way through the Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu. Little did the calf know, this is where her adventure begins- with an unfortunate twist of fate.

She’d been left alone, vulnerable in the vast jungle. Recognizing the danger to the lost calf, the dedicated park officials of the Reserve spring into action. Their mission was a stirring example of the deep commitment and empathy inherent in wildlife protection.

The rangers, equipped with a drone, embarked on a meticulous search. They tracked the calf's herd over a challenging 2.5-mile journey, steadfast and resolved in the face of nature's challenges.

The rescue operation also required careful planning to reintegrate the calf successfully into the herd.

Elephants possess an acute sense of smell, so the rangers bathed the calf and covered her in mud to mask any human scent. This crucial step ensures the calf's seamless acceptance back into the fold of her family.

The reunion is a full on tear-jerker! A tense moment hung in the air as the calf was released– will she be taken back?

The rangers watched, holding their breath, as the young elephant approached her family. What follows is the most beautiful, awe-inspiring embrace between the mother elephant and her baby.

She loses herself in tenderly welcoming her lost calf back back home.

This touching scene is a heartwarming landmark in wildlife conservation, illustrating the positive outcomes of thoughtful human intervention in nature. It also made for one sweet video!

🗿 ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…

Did you know that on this day in history in 1955, the iconic game "Scrabble" was born? The word game made its official debut and became a household name that’s still beloved around the world.

Scrabble’s inception can be traced back to 1938 when an American architect named Alfred Mosher Butts invented a game combining chance and skill. He first called it "Lexiko" and later "Criss-Crosswords."

Butts, who was out of work during the Great Depression, aimed to create a unique game that challenged players' vocabulary and strategic thinking. But it wasn't until he met entrepreneur James Brunot, (who bought the rights to manufacture the game, slightly tweaked the rules and design, and renamed it "Scrabble") that the game began its path to commercial success.

People were lukewarm about Scrabble in 1955, but its popularity gradually grew, especially after the president of Macy's spotted it on vacation and ordered it to be sold in the department store. After that, the rest is history!

Other interesting occurrences…

1825 - Ezra Daggett and his nephew Thomas Kensett revolutionized the world’s pantry when they secured a patent for storing food in tin cans, thus forever changing how we preserve and consume food.

1883 - Thomas Edison lit up Roselle, New Jersey, with the first electric lighting system using overhead wires. This aerial shift illuminated the future of electricity.

1915 - George Claude created a glowing trend in street advertising with his patent on the neon tube sign.

1977 - In a rare meteorological twist, Miami, Florida saw snowfall for the first and only time known to man in recorded history during a national cold snap, even making a surprising appearance in the Bahamas.
