Teen Mom's Sweet Date Turns Heads at Prom

At just 16, Ashleigh Hazelton turned the traditional prom night on its head by bringing a very special date - her 1-year-old son, Lorenzo.

The young mom from Ipswich, Suffolk, made a heartwarming entrance at her prom, surprising classmates and creating a buzz of excitement. “I got out of the car and everyone came running up to me, chanting my name and crowding around us," the young mom giddily recalled.

Ashleigh's journey to motherhood began at 14, and by 15, she was balancing the roles of both a student and a mom. Returning to school just six weeks after giving birth, she tackled her GCSE exams with determination.

Bringing Lorenzo to prom was a natural choice for her, a simple act of motherhood rather than bravery. “Everyone was very shocked and surprised... it wasn’t a massive deal to me. I just did it!"

The duo's appearance was stunning. Ashleigh and Lorenzo captured everyone's attention with her striking red gown in his charming little suit.

Her mother, Haley Tricker, expressed immense pride in Ashleigh's accomplishments both as a student and a mother. The emotional support from friends and teachers was evident, especially during the heartfelt photo session before the prom.

This touching story of a teen mom and her son at prom caught the attention of many online, turning them into viral sensations.

A TikTok video showcasing their transformation for the big night added to their allure. While Lorenzo's bedtime meant an early end to his prom night, Ashleigh enjoyed the celebration with her friends.

Cop Makes Vow to Dog Found in -20 Weather

On a freezing night with temperatures plummeting to -20 degrees, Officer Eric McCombs encountered a sight that would change two lives forever. He found Sweet Pea.

The malnourished pit bull had been chained to a porch and left shivering in the cold. McCombs’s heart beat with anger and empathy. He knew he had to act.

He wasn’t going to leave her in these conditions for even a second longer. McCombs freed Sweet Pea from her icy chains and she leaped into his patrol car, knowing her fate had suddenly shifted.

At the animal shelter, it soon became clear that this wasn't the right place for Sweet Pea. She had suffered enough. So, McCombs adopted her and brought her to her new home.

The transition wasn't easy. Sweet Pea was initially hesitant and wary, a clear sign of her past trauma. But with time, patience, and a lot of love, she began to embrace her new life.

Her transformation was remarkable. From a neglected, suffering dog, she blossomed into a joyful, playful companion- a lovable, tail-wagging goof.

Did you know that on this day in history in 1120 AD, a council was held that would change the shape of history forever? This pivotal gathering is known as The Council of Nablus and was convened by two influential figures of the time - Warmund, Patriarch of Jerusalem, and King Baldwin II of Jerusalem.

Their collaboration led to the earliest comprehensive “legal code” for the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. This resulted in a blend of 25 canons that intertwined religious doctrines with secular laws, setting a change of pace in medieval governance. But this isn’t the council’s only claim to fame.

This meeting also played a crucial role in the founding of the Knights Templar. It was here that French Knight Hugues de Payens received the blessing of King Baldwin II and Patriarch Warmund to establish the legendary (and infamous) order.

Officially recognized in 1139 by the papal bull Omne Datum Optimum, the Knights Templar, also known as the “Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ” and “of the Temple of Solomon”, quickly ascended to prominence. Renowned for their military prowess in the Crusades, they also pioneered early banking systems, creating a financial network that spanned across Europe.

Their core mission was to protect Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land, but their influence inevitably spilled over into the realms of economics, politics, and culture. The legacy of the Knights Templar, as born from the historic decisions made at the Council of Nablus, continues to be a source of fascination, intrigue, and influence even today.
