SMILES

Keeping the hallway clear might seem like a no-brainer, but for one family, it became the source of a hilarious household debate.

The spotlight was on young Jack, who inadvertently sparked a conversation about where the vacuum cleaner should be kept. In his innocent and matter-of-fact way, Jack let it slip what Dad really thinks about Mom’s chosen “vacuum spot.”

Safety is a big deal when it comes to clutter in the hallway. But in Jack’s home, the practical concern quickly turned comedic.

Mom decided that the laundry room was the ideal place for the vacuum, explaining, “It’s out of sight, out of mind, and keeps the common areas tidy.” Dad wasn’t thrilled, though. He was grumbling about it blocking his access to something very important— the freezer.

The debate hit a hilarious peak when Jack, with the seriousness only a child can muster, blurted out the truth of the matter. “Mom, you’re making it impossible for Dad to get his ice cream!” Jack exclaimed.

This earnest and unexpected defense of his dad’s sweet tooth added a delightful twist to the discussion. Jack, in his straightforward manner, came up with the perfect suggestion.

“What if we put the vacuum in the hallway closet? Then Dad can get his ice cream, and you can have your clean floors!” His practical yet hilarious solutions had everyone laughing.

Jack’s pointed suggestions didn’t stop there. With a glint in his eye, he proposed, “Or maybe we should hang the vacuum from the ceiling, then it won’t be in anyone’s way!”

Ultimately, this silly exchange reflects a common theme in many households— balancing practicality with convenience. How do we know?

Because with over 300,000 views in just 14 days, it’s safe to say people are eating up this video of Jack’s hilarious approach to “parental management”!

ANIMALS

Over at Randal Walker’s ranch near Toppenish, Washington, there’s a daily show you wouldn’t believe.

Randal’s got this amazing team of border collies—Jet, Brodey, Bear, and Brick. These pups, part of the Satus Stockdogs crew, are more than just pets—they’re his right-hand helpers, turning everyday chores into an impressive spectacle.

Now, these aren’t your average border collies. They come from a special line bred just for handling cattle.

Each dog was picked for their unique talents and personalities, and Randal has spent years training them to perfection. One of their most thrilling tasks? Loading bucking bulls into a trailer.

Can you just imagine these huge, unpredictable bulls being expertly guided by 4 small but smart, agile dogs? Leading the pack is Jet, who takes charge with cool confidence.

Brodey, Bear, and Brick follow his lead, weaving around the bulls with incredible skill. It’s a tense sight to behold as the stubborn bulls start to follow the dogs' directions.

It’s like watching a well-choreographed dance—these dogs and bulls have a silent understanding, a mutual respect. Each precise move by the dogs brings the bulls closer to the trailer.

Randal watches with a mix of pride and practicality. He knows just how valuable these dogs are—not just for their hard work, but for the bond they share.

When the last bull finally steps into the trailer, there’s this huge sense of accomplishment. The dogs, still full of energy, return to Randal, ready for whatever comes next.

While one might not think seeing a group of dogs wrangle a herd of bulls is all that enthralling, the footage says otherwise.

Randal’s video of this particular run has received over 4.8M views and endless praise from the viewers. Trust us, you’ll want to see it with your own eyes!

💭 QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

— Jesus (John 16:33)

🗿 ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…

Did you know that on this day in 1439, the King of England put the kibosh on kissing?

The drastic measure was part of an effort to combat the devastating spread of the Black Death, also known as the bubonic plague.

This deadly pandemic had already claimed millions of lives across Europe, and authorities were desperate to find ways to curb the contagion.

By banning kissing, a common form of social greeting, they hoped to reduce close contact among people and, consequently, the transmission of the disease-causing bacteria.

The ban on kissing was just one of many extreme steps taken during this period. Other measures included quarantine for those infected, burning the possessions of the sick, and even killing stray animals that might carry the plague.

Despite these efforts, the Black Death continued to ravage populations. This historical moment underscores the lengths to which societies will go to protect public health, even if it means altering fundamental social behaviors.

Later on…

1519 - Tensions at Pleissenburg Castle in Leipzig spiked when Martin Luther boldly denied the Pope's “divine right” in a heated public debate against theologian Johann Eck. Luther’s passionate presentation of Scripture as the supreme authority on moral and spiritual matters marked a pivotal moment in the Protestant Reformation.

1926 - National Geographic anchored itself in marine photo history by publishing the first natural-color undersea photos. Captured by Dr. William Longley, these photos forever changed how we explore and document the ocean's depths.

1967 - A young Joni Mitchell made her debut at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island. Her performance at the songwriters' workshop. She was quietly introduced by Judy Collins, but she left to the thundering applause of over 15,000 people.

1972 - Smokey Robinson and the Miracles gave their final live performance in Washington D.C. Their farewell brought an iconic era of Motown music to a close.
